@SRC54 How are you adding a category note vs. parent note?

@RickS So far we can only add category notes when you are in Show Split Items. You enter them directly into the transaction list (register).

Soon I hope we'll have the ability to do category notes when in the Transaction Entry Box and doing the splits.

@SRC54 I tried that but the new note disappeared when I tabbed out of the notes field.

You might have to press Enter after typing the note. That's a different issue that's been mentioned here.

@EL1234 Yes, enter instead of tab worked.

Yep, you type, then hit enter, then tab. You have to do this when splitting transactions too.

Some times you can get away without entering, but I've gotten used to doing all three just to be sure.

@Coach Natalie, is there any update on the customizations of the column selections not sticking? For me, I keep deselecting the "Account" column when I view the Transaction List and the software keeps reverting back to showing that column.

  • excellent work dev team! statement name and notes resolution is spot on ❤️

I'm still seeing the glitch where as I'm scrolling down using the mouse wheel, the transaction list jumps to the top and it will take multiple tries to scroll down to get a transaction that I need to edit. I've tried both Google Chrome and Firefox and have the same issue. It' very frustrating trying to navigate and review my transaction list when it's constantly glitch jumping back to the top.

I reported this issue in December of 2025:

    >I have an account that is new, about 2 weeks old. It was working fine until today.

    >In the transaction activity list, it lists the 'Category' field at the top of the list, but in the rows the category is now >displaying the payee. The actual category of the transaction is not listed at all.

    >If I edit the transaction, everything displays correctly and the category is correct.

    >If I export to CSV, the category field is incorrectly displaying the payee field in the rows.

    >None of my other accounts are showing this behavior.

    >Is there any way to fix this?

This may have had to do with me adding the account originally as an investment account, then setting it manual, and then re-adding it as a checking/savings account and associating it with the manual account. Coach Jon indicated back then that they were waiting on guidance on how to back out of this issue. However, I haven't heard anything back on the issue and it's still showing this behavior. I got a message from Quicken Kirby on 02/26/26 about wanting to know if I was willing to send feedback, which I said I was, but that's the last I've heard.

I need to know if there has been any work on resolving this and fixing the behavior. If there is not, that's fine, I will remove the account altogether and try adding it freshly as a checking account. I understand that this may be something that is unique to me and how I originally added the account and may not be worth a general fix for all users. However, the longer I wait the more the issue compounds for me as I now have 4 months going on 5 of transactions, expenses to categorize, receipts to upload, notes, etc. that I will have to manually update with a freshly added account.

As I stated in my original post, all my information is in the database (it shows the category correctly when I edit a transaction). It's just the transaction list and the export to CSV that shows payee under the category column. The actual category I input is completely missing from the transaction list and the exported CSV.

  • I'm having the same issue scrolling with either mouse or sidebar scrolling down transactions in the app, the screen auto-adjusts back to the top of the screen in 2 seconds. I don't have time to edit a transaction. It wasn't doing this before the last update

Personally disappointed with this change, I liked being able to click the month on the Spending widget, then being able to immediately sort by transactions to investigate them. The only way to sort now it seems is through Income and Expense, which requires two extra clicks. The only other way is clicking a subcategory of Spending.

Given that this has an options (gear icon), I think it should offer the "old view" for those who prefer it.
