Exporting to csv no longer includes Notes field (edited)
I noticed the csv export format recently changed. It looks like the Notes field is no longer exported. Could you please have this new behavior fixed?
Thank you!

I tested the CSV export. The notes field downloads correctly when downloading/exporting from the transaction list.
However, when exporting from Reports, Watchlist, or Spending Plan, the notes field does not come down anymore. I do not use exports from these areas of Simplifi often, so I am not sure if the behavior of notes not being exported was there before the split update.

This is only if you export from an account. When you download the transactions from a Report (e.g. Net Income), it now changed the CSV format which no longer contains the Notes field.

I agree with what you are saying, hence the response above. Transaction list is accessible from an account or by clicking on Net Worth in the accounts list, which will list all accounts and export all account transactions at once.
As I stated, the behavior you reported (notes do not export from reports>net income), is also the one I see. I replied to show a workaround to export notes to CSV for all accounts via the transaction list.

Yes, I understand and thank you for that. Unfortunately exporting from there doesn't contain the same content as in the report. The report will include all my Investment's transactions that otherwise they wouldn't show in an export from the Net Worth in the accounts list.

I used to export investment transactions from my broker but stopped doing so this year. For investment accounts, I track balances instead. I do not keep notes on my investment transactions. There is a feature request to export investment transactions open.

Yea, that would be nice. That was actually the default behavior for Mint. I lost that functionality so the only way for me to get closer to it is through exporting transactions from the Report. I think it's actually very close, so fixing the Notes missing field could be a good workaround to close that gap with Mint.

@FabianW, thanks for posting to the Community!
I don't see a Notes Column in the Transaction Activity areas of any of my Reports, so I'm not sure how this data would be able to be exported from here. I also don't see a Notes Column in Watchlists or the Spending Plan. I don't see anything on our end indicating that there has been a change with this. I think the best solution would be to get the Notes Column added to Reports so this data can be exported from here, which we have an existing request for:
We also have existing requests for Watchlists and the Spending Plan:
Sorry for not having a better answer, but I hope this helps!

Thanks @Coach Natalie - I have these three ideas bookmarked. I export my transactions from the transactions view, which includes the notes field but unfortunately such view does not include investment transactions. @FabianW will need either the inclusion of the notes field in reports to export or the ability to export investment transactions from Simplifi.

Another user posted a way to show the notes column from reports. I tested the steps and they work, check the comment out.

@UrsulaA, I believe the column options in Reports and the Spending Plan is either a bug or a dev tool that should not be in production. I will post back to the Idea post when I find out for sure, but we will not be considering that feature as "implemented" yet in regard to this post.
Thanks!

Agreed, I like the column options as presented in posts earlier today quoted above. Hope we can keep them.

Thanks for confirming the filters and notes columns are features on the corresponding idea posts. Appreciate your fast response.
