is there way to display or print a report with the categories and subcategories as a multi-level list?

There's no way to 'print' a report, requests exist for that - I could not locate the existing idea post, but I'm sure it exists, you are not the first to ask for the ability to print reports on paper.

As per reports with more than 9 categories, if you click on 'Everything else' you get to see more categories, or if you want to drill down to subcategories, click on a category that has subcategories.
