I'd love to be able to connect my Principal Financial account (for my 401k).

@Austin Thank you for your request. I've added Principal Financial to our list.

So its been quite some time, any updates on this?
2 -
Keeping this one alive. Here's to hoping there are updates soon.

I was able to load my other Principal accounts but the 401k would not load. Any reason why?

Need Principal 401K connection!
2 -
Same here. Please add a connection for Principal 401K. This isn't a fringe 401K plan. Many companies use Principal and this should be a standard connection.
3 -
Same here. Would love to be able to link my Principal 401k.

Would love to see this added as well. This is the last remaining account to get fully into Simplifi. Thanks!

Please add Principal Financial. Massive ~$700B asset manager/401k provider!
Mint connects to Principal.

is there anyone at Quicken working with Principal on this request?

Oh my goodness…four years ago the request was made to connect The Principal. This is Quicken! Where is the problem? Quicken or Principal? How can Simplifi possibly help me manage goals and spending if I can't get updated 401K data?

I was able to establish my 401k connection. It shows up as impact 401k but with a principal.Com domain. No issues so far. This wasn't an option a month ago.

I've had connectivity to Principal 401K since early 2023… As @madmoondog indicated, it appears slightly misnamed but it works.

Ugh. Paid for this app and can't connect to Principal 401K??? I tried the above solution and no it doesn't work.

Tried it. Doesn't work.

Hey everyone, barring the ongoing issue with Impact 401K (see here), is everyone able to connect their Principal account using the "Impact 401(K) - Employee Login" option in Quicken Simplifi? I'm looking to mark this request as completed with a note on how to connect if so. 🙂
Thanks!

Neither the Impact 401K or the Principal 401K connection are working for me. Both produce an FDP-108 error code when trying to link. Following the directions at the following link did not resolve the issue:

@Nickolisirby, if you're using Quicken for Mac (Quicken Classic), you'll want to post to their Community for help:
Thanks!

My reported experience is specific to is iOS.

@Nickolisirby, then you'd want to create a separate post to report the issue you're experiencing; this is a Missing Financial Institution Request.
We look forward to working with you!

I also cannot connect my Principal Financial account and get an error message

My apologies. When you said:
"is everyone able to connect their Principal account using the "Impact 401(K) - Employee Login" option in Quicken Simplifi"
I thought not being able to connect using the "Impact 401(K) - Employee Login" option in Quicken Simplifi would be relevant to you. I will create a new thread on this issue.

please put link to new thread here. I cannot connect to impact 401(k) and principal doesn’t even show up anymore.

Sadly, no. I've tried using both the "Principal Impact 401K" and "Principal Residential Mortgage" options, but both return a "FDP-108: To connect to your account, you must complete an action at the website" error.

Hey everyone, it doesn't look like a new thread was created for the FDP-108 error, though I see a couple of you have mentioned that error specifically. It would be great to have someone report that in the appropriate section of the Community so we can do some troubleshooting. If we establish a way for users to connect their Principal Financial accounts after doing so, we will certainly post back here and give everyone the update.
Thanks so much!

Hey everyone, we went ahead and escalated the 108 error from this thread, and it appears that this is a known issue and is due to us not being permitted to access the account info. For now, I'd suggest having everyone contact the bank directly to help make them aware of the issue, as well as continue to follow along here for any future updates that may become available from our end.
Thanks!
