Savings Goals and the Spending Plan

I'd like to see some additional functionality for spending money from Savings Goals. Right now they only work one-way, where money can be subtracted from the Spending Plan to go towards Savings Goals.

What I would like to see is where we can spend money from the Savings Goals, link it to a transaction, and have the money be subtracted from the Savings Goal without affecting the available spending in the Spending Plan. After all, the point of putting money to the side is to spend it one day. And there should be functionality that allows us to do so without having to either add income or hide transactions from the spending plan, like we currently do.

I appreciate you pointing these out, but considering that they're all years old, I would imagine they don't have a lot of traction.

Thanks for the reply! Even though the idea posts may appear old, that does not mean they are stagnant by any means. All of the posts I shared have recent comments and votes as well! If they match with what you are requesting, I would definitely suggest giving them a vote and following for updates!

The links @Coach Jon listed above or only three of many that are asking for expansion or enhancement of Savings Goals and yes, as you say, these requests and conversations go back almost to the launch of QS. I like to imagine that someone at Quicken Simplifi is hard a work on the Savings Goal feature - or at least that someone has been assigned to the task along with whatever other assignments they have.

I know things can happen, changes made, features added or enhanced, but I'm not sure what triggers these actions. Unfortunately, the Savings Goal feature remains dormant even with the amount of attention this feature receives in this forum.

Here's to hopping that will change…. soon.

@Coach Jon are there any existing idea threads for being able to at least add dates to contributions? For example last month I contributed to a savings goal but forgot to go in and manually contribute in Simplifi (also agree this should be incorporated somehow), but now it’s saying it’s my August contributions when really they were July and I haven’t contributed in August yet. Would love to see this functionality..

Thanks for reaching out! We have added the ability to contribute to Savings Goals from the Spending Plan in the prior closed month! You will simply need to navigate to the Spending Plan, select the left arrow to go back to July, and then contribute to your goal using the 3-dot menu.
